Scenes from Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter over the past year...board members and dedicated volunteers at work.
The Palm Springs Animal Shelter hosted a Birthday Paw-ty Event for alumni and new adopters on August 23, 2014. We had a great time reconnecting with our past.
Meet Hazel. She is at the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. She is a 3 year old Chow mix. She is sweet and playful. Smart and gentle. She gets along well with other dogs. Love people of all ages. She seems interested in kitties, but not to the point she doesn't like them. She is ready for her new family!
Thanks to our volunteers, foster guardians, adopters, and donors, 2012 was a great year for lost, stray, abandoned and homeless animals in Palm Springs.

Many breeds of dogs have been targeted for discrimination and extermination over the years. In the past, we have done it in this country with Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Doberman Pinchers, American Bull Dogs, Bull Terriers, Mastiffs, Dalmatians, Chow Chows. Pit bulls are currently the targeted breed. To show love for this maligned breed, the Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter hosted a Neighborhood Pit Bull Day at the Park. Free spay/neuter vouchers were offered along with low cost vaccinations and microchipping, as well as education on how to be a responsible guardian of a loving, loyal and wonderful family dog.
