meiselman homes tour

Modernism Week 2019

TOUR TIMES: (1 day only)

9:00 am, 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 pm

Join us for a fascinating Palm Springs tour of tastefully restored modernist homes built by Jack Meiselman (pronounced MY-zill-min”) from the mid 1950s through the early 1960s. Meiselman built around 300 affordable post and beam homes in Palm Springs that feature clean lines, clerestory windows, and open plan living spaces with walls of glass to the outdoors and the pool. The front of each home features a unique stucco pattern – diamonds, abstracts, lines, or rectangles that symbolize midcentury style. They were designed in a variety of rooflines, including butterfly. Meiselman homes are scattered throughout the city in small tracts (often near Alexander built neighborhoods). Primarily they are clustered in Little Beverly Hills, Sunmor, Sunrise Park, and Racquet Club areas. This is a self-paced driving tour that will introduce you to some of the citys lesser-known midcentury neighborhoods.

All proceeds from this tour will benefit Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, a 501c(3) non-profit organization, which manages and operates the Palm Springs Animal Shelter.
